FDIC Claims Three

On Friday, regulators shut down three more banks in Florida, Arizona, and Kansas, bringing the total number of banks closed down this year to 133.  The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. took over the Miami-based Republic Federal Bank with $433 million in assets, and close to $353 million in deposits.

 

The FDIC also took over Valley Capital Bank, based in Mesa, Arizona with more than $40 million in assets and $41 million in deposits.  Solutions Bank in Overland Park, Kansas also got red-taped with $511 million in assets and more than $421 million in deposits.
