Boeing 787 Scheduled for Takeoff
Monday, December 14, 2009 12:18 PM

American aircraft maker Boeing is finally ready for takeoff.  The aircraft will celebrate the first flight of its troubled 787 Dreamliner tomorrow after its flagship project was dogged by delays.  The plane will take off from a runway just outside Seattle, Washington state, two years after Boeing had hopes of it taking to the air then.

Boeing announced last Thursday that its window for a first flight would open on December 15th with the actual flight timing dependent on final internal reviews, taxi testing, FAA documentation and of course, the weather.  Boeing said that in order for the 787 to be cleared for takeoff, Mother Nature will need to provide good visibility, there needs to be no standing water on the runway and gentle to no wind.
