Hooray for Jay!    By: subtonic    Date: 11/13/2009
I recently found this after searching for the very talented Mr. Diamond. I can't wait to watch all the episodes and I hope he makes more!

My Diamond Addiction    By: Heatherlyn    Date: 9/23/2009
What seems like a thousand years ago in the early 90's I got hooked on WABC talkradio. I didn't agree with a lot of what I heard but it was a new concept to me and I fell in love. Jay in particular captivated me. I thought he was obnoxious as all get-out but brilliant. His impressions, Bing tributes and 'Mighty Diamond Art Players' made me his most reluctant fan. Eventually I started faxing him and he would take the time to respond to the faxed on his show. The way he would say 'oh, it's Heatherlyn' with a mix of amusement and disgust thrilled me and I slowly moved up to calling. Jay and I became friends off the show. Nothing groupie-ish, no schoolgirl crushes or sex hunts. He was someone I talked to for hours on the phone at his home and he was someone I trusted and cared deeply for. Out of all the friends I made at WABC and all the fun I had there, Jay Diamond was the shining star. He was easily the most talented mind on the station, he went out of his way for those around him and he cared about what sort of show he put on. I ran the WABC boards back then on AOL (thanks to Phil Boyce) and even though I had my own forum in between Rush and Dr. Laura, Jay's was always number one. It's been years since I've heard Jay or heard from Jay. Life happens, we drifted but he was never forgotten. It was with Jay's inspiration and a million lessons he didn't know he taught me that I started my own internet radio station. When I was told Jay was back on the NY scene and could be found here on UBATV, I literally did the happy dance. I'm in end-stage renal failure, it's been a long time since I've happy danced for anything. Listening to and watching Jay the past few weeks has been literally the highest points of each week. He is as sharp as ever, he looks fantastic, his material is sincere and pertinent and the hour goes by so fast it's unreal. Listening to Jay is one hour a week I don't think about kidney failure, transplants and dialysis. I think that's about the best compliment I can give anyone. Thank you to UBATV for giving Jay Diamond back to the people who love him, have missed him and have been inspired enough by him to act. Now we just need him to go on longer or more than one day! Jay Diamond forever! Heatherlyn, formerly Brandy2133.

No Jay for too long! I need my dose of the Diamond to keep me from losing my sanity in the land of Rush Beckannity.

In reply to the post by Heatherlyn, I can certainly echo that enthusiasm knowing that I can now hear (and see) Jay Diamond once again. I am concerned (albeit selfishly so) that Jay has not taped a follow-up show to his September 23rd episode (to date his most recent show at UbaTV). I have read rumors that he is not coming back to UbaTV (can any UbaTV executives confirm or deny this) from none-other than Bob Grant himself. I hope this is not the case. Jay Diamond is a treasure and I will miss watching his weekly shows terribly. Jay, we love watching your show out here. Please let know what's going on. Thanks. - Chris
